Global Peace Education Day advocacy

GPEN Advisory Council President Federico Mayor Zaragoza transmitted a letter to the United Nations Secretary-General urging the establishment of an annual Global Peace Education Day.

GPEN has reported more than 5,000 participants in its early conferences and forums, with programming presented by more than 100 members of its global faculty.

Advising CAFRAD

Two GPEN representatives were appointed to the International Advisory Council of the Pan-African Intergovernmental Organization CAFRAD.

Supporting peace education policy

GPEN participated in a successful advocacy effort supporting peace education programs in Italian schools.

Connecting institutions across borders

GPEN facilitated a relationship between the Solari Foundation of Chile and the Spanish Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations.

Contributing to international education forums

GPEN cosponsored the COEDU22 education convention for South America and helped bring peace educator Prem Rawat into the program as a keynote speaker.

Curating peace through creative expression

GPEN curated an exhibition by artists from African Union nations during a United States summit with African representatives in Washington, DC.
